Happy New Year!

September 15, 2007 · 1 Comment

My family and I just returned from celebrating Rosh Hashanah, The Jewish New Year. It is, of course, a time of celebration but also a time of reflection and forgiveness.  From Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, you have time to think about how you have behaved in the last year and how you can do better. No one expects perfection, but there is the expectation that you will stop and think about what you’ve done and apologize if need be.  It just makes sense and it’s what we ask our children to do each day.  It nice also to be unplugged for two days, to see friends that you only see once a year and to eat too much.
